my new hat and salt stains
Allergy central
The mosquito exhaustion
Hugs among trail friends
Hugs to start the day. And then drugged trail climbing. I took a claritin this morning to see if it would help with my allergies. I'm so tired of these allergies. I had a groggy morning but did feel better this afternoon which helped me power up a steep, hot climb. Am I still in the desert? Why is it so damn hot? I'm in the Sierra, over 8000 feet and I'm burning up. Perhaps the plus side was that it was too hot for the mosquitos to torture me.
No thundershowers today but the mosquitos went to a whole new level. Insane! And if your body is not completely covered, the effort it takes to swat them drains you. The hair on my arms has turned blond which lays in stark contrast to my tan. These blond hairs have helped entangle many mosquitos and alert me to their presence. Late this afternoon I could no longer take the abuse and put on my pant legs and head net. There are currently at least 200 mosquitos in between my tent and my fly and their high pitched buzz is even tiring to listen to.
I'm exhausted. And I have my vestibule open looking for some shooting star fireworks.
