Power Off

Powering down
So happy to find water
Big blue lake Tahoe

Whatever power I had flowing yesterday, certainly wasn't flowing today. The body was sore and tired. The group joked with me that I'm notoriously up early but was actually the last to leave camp today.

Met lots of day hikers out from Barker Pass. Even spent some time chatting with a couple young girls who were full of questions. Fun!

By the time Hot Tub, Sweet Tooth and I stopped for lunch we realized that the next water was 6 miles away. Shoot! I was super thirsty and could have drank the whole liter I had. But instead I saved a quarter liter for the miles. The miles seem to drag on when you're thirsty. Rather ironically, through most the 6 miles I could see big blue lake Tahoe to the east.

Once we made it to water and had a nice break, we decided to push another 5 miles. A big climb through the end of granite chief wilderness had us entering Squaw Valley and hiking right below a ski lift. After I got in my tent the wind started to blow so hard that I was afraid that my tent was going to blow over. Now, all is quiet.
