Cinnamon roll from head chef
Wine in resupply

I've been forgetting to mention that I bottled up 5 one ounce bottles of SmartScent from my climb out of Belden. $ 20 includes shipping.

Good morning in Chester. Waffle supreme breakfast and hitching out only took 10 minutes. We stopped for lunch at the small north fork of the feather river. Also noteworthy is that this section is totally new for me. In 2009 I had to skip from Chester to Castle Crags due to fire. So far so good despite the daily thunder clouds.

The afternoon seemed to drag on but as the scent of sulfur intensified, we knew we were getting close to Drakesbad Ranch. We carefully walked around Boiling Springs Lake. That thing was amazing. Geothermal vents were spewing steam from the boiling water. Even at one point along the trail, you could feel the heat intensify. Yikes!

Hot Tub, Sweet Tooth and Watson all got resupply boxes sent there. I just went along to check the place out and see if I could round up a beer. Turns out that Watson was chatting with the head chef. Not too long later, he offered us fresh cinnamon rolls. Simply amazing! To go with that, Hot Tub got a box of wine in her resupply box. That means we had a lot of wine to drink. As darkness fell, we walked down the road to the campground. Folks sat around cooking dinner and drinking wine. Got to bed real late.
