Reunion with friends

Wanted to get an early start for the climb. The air in the valley was thick with smoke. I could barely see the crags. Just after the first spring, I came across a patch of pitcher plants. A very cool and rare sighting.

Upon arriving at the second spring, 19 miles into the day, there was Katie who now has the trail name Boo Boo Kitty Soft Paws. I hadn't seen her since Agua Dulce. Boo Boo Kitty and I hiked the first miles together so we have a special connection. Saw quite a few other hikers today on trail that I hadn't seen in awhile which was cool.

I had a nice conversation with a ground squirrel today. But when I mentioned coming with me to Canada, it ran off.

There's probably at least 12 pct hikers here tonight. Camped closet to me is Boo Boo Kitty, John, Bird Dog, Hops and Hannah.
