Distant cowbells ring
Hiking in circles all day
Cow shit in the spring


Thought I'd heard chewing last night and sure enough my backpack has a hole in it now. The critter must have gotten full on all the plastic because it didn't eat any of my food. It might have been the ground squirrels mother coming for vengeance because I tried to get her kid to come with me to Canada.

I left camp just after 630 am and everyone was still asleep. My breakfast consisted of king size m&ms whose packaging indicated that I was suppose to be sharing. Well, I ate the whole damn thing myself.

This afternoon I hit a wall. Both physically and mentally. The feet were killing. I caught up with King Street and he had hit a wall too. We started hiking together and in no time we made it to hwy 3 (Scott mountain summit). Trail magic from Kenobi and family. I enjoyed some tasty watermelon and a root beer. Thank you! This lifted my spirits greatly. Then we went across the hwy and ran into a day hiker parked there who gave us a beer. Unbelievable! I've never had double hwy magic happen before.

King Street and I trudged the last 5 miles and got to camp around 8 pm. I drank my beer as I set up my tent.
