Mt. Shasta far to the East

Smokey skies return
Coughing and climbing steepness
It sure is hot out here

Slow morning it seemed. I left just before a bear came by. Met new folks on the trail today and ran into others that I hadn't seen in a long time.

Over 5000 ft of climbing today and most of it was steep. This afternoon during a climb, smoke blew in real thick. Like walking with your head in an ash tray. I couldn't see any of the ridges around me.

Camped here tonight with Horny Road, Sexy Legs, and Johnny Reb.
