Hugs
What started as a sad day could only get better. Right? Still working on that accepting who I am and being one with aloneness. Also missing my cat Yazhi lots. Tomorrow is his birthday.You know how you meet people and instantly get the sense that these are special people? Well, that was Maggie and Jeff. They were day hiking and we ran into them several times. Trail magic of almond-covered dates and a hug. Thank you!
The afternoon slipped by with easy miles. The mind when on a trip of its own too. Met section hiker rock kicker, who is a type I diabetic and hiking Oregon. Awesome! Just after 6 pm we left the brown mountain hut and pushed into the world of lava. Tough to find a camping spot but did find a small patch about a mile short of our goal for the day.
