Mazama Magic

Crater Lake Rim gives
Full moon sunset bestows love
Family trail magic

Today was true magic. The kind you can only dream of. After quick morning miles we arrived at mazama village around 930 am.

Ninkasi ipa, dead guy ale, shower, laundry and then lunch. In the middle of all that John and Joyce arrived after making the long drive from grants pass. True angels they are. We enjoyed a nice lunch and a trip through the gift shop. They patiently waited as I got my resupply box and sorted through all that. Thank you angels John and Joyce!

Finally, after 4 pm I was ready for departure. Kpax and UB joined us for the ride to Crater Lake rim skipping 5 uphill trail miles. Sipping widmer hefeweizen and sitting on the rim I wrote some postcards before heading into the rim village cafe. A quick snack and 5L water refill closed down the store. You see, we have a 28 mile waterless stretch ahead while enjoying the view of Crater Lake.

What was a smokey afternoon cleared for a beautiful sunset/moon rise evening. I couldn't have planned it any better. To be cowboy camped here on the rim with a beautiful sunset and the full moon rising was one of those truly memorable moments. I feel blessed to be here taking in such a splendid sight. Time for Katell.
