Snap, Crackle and Pop

Luckily the tent and everything was dry this morning. Quick miles to Thielsen creek. Decided to carry a little extra water to avoid going to an off trail spring. The day was overcast and cool so I gambled and only took 4L.

I soon passed the OR/WA high point. And not long after that the sky started spiting. I waited for 10 minutes until the rain lightened up. Quick miles all afternoon and arrived at the spring at 345 pm.

Sunny and beautiful soon turned to dark ominous clouds. Kpax and I tried to outrun the storm. We were right in the middle of it. The lighting flashed all around us. The thunder rumbled relentlessly. At one point it was directly overhead. 1 one thousand, 2 one thousand, 3 one thousand. Boom. 3 miles overhead. We scrambled to our destination of Windigo Pass and set up our tents as a few drops continued to fall. We retreated to our tents, ate dinner, tucked ourselves in and it rained more.
