Fe Fi Fo

Resonant tree trail
Surprised that Kpax caught up
The sky going pink

I know that my last few journals have been without the poems. That's because the last few nights when I've gone to write my journal I can't keep my eyes open. So I've been rushing to play catch up. I've managed to get some better sleep due to being totally exhausted so I'm back to my normal journal routine.

After going to bed around 1130 pm and sleeping next to the train I was up early. Orange juice, hot chocolate, muffin and one last quick wifi check and then I was headed down the road. No cars came by so I walked the 2+ miles back to the trail. I'd gotten 2 cans of beer for Kpax and I left them at the trail head hoping he would find them. I figured he wasn't too far behind.

Quick and easy miles all day. I must have sounded like a giant thumping through the forest because the trail was incredibly resonant. I imagine it being this complex labyrinth of roots full of air pockets and loosly packed dirt. The prefect resonant box.

Turned on my phone in the middle of a burn section this evening to see if I had service. Intermittent. Called Lloyd Gust, central Oregon trail angel extraordinaire, to see if I might be able to connect with him in Bend. He said he was in and out of the hospital. I hope everyone can send some positive healing thoughts his way. His mind is sharp as ever and we had a great conversation.

I got to my destination this evening and got set up quick because the mosquitos were in full force. I eyed the clouds and opted to put on my rain fly. Thank god because the skies just opened up and it's dumping. About 40 minutes ago I thought I heard an animal thumping around and then I heard "Lion Heart"? Kpax rolled in after putting in a 30 mile day. What an awesome surprise! Luckily, he got all set up and in his tent before the rain started.
