Three Sisters

Red-headed cloud hat
Lava fills the horizon
Mackenzie pass beer

A wet, dewy morning made for wet gear. But luckily it was sunny and we dried our gear during our first break at Obsidian Falls. Was able to hit a couple springs today, one of which the water was just bubbling out of the ground. So cool. Hiked along the west side of the Three Sisters, grand and impressive peaks. A root took me down quick today and I and the ground got reacquainted. Luckily I have just a few scrapes on my left elbow. Kpax is sorry he missed it because I've seen him fall once.

It's lava time again. Loads of it. Ouch! Rolled into Mackenzie Pass before 6 pm to find trail magic. Graham, a previous AT hiker, was warming up chilli and had cold beers. What a dream since the lava was starting to get me down. After an hour, we were headed just another half mile down trail for an early finish. We didn't date push on into the lava fields followed by burnt forest. So we will start early tomorrow for around 30 miles.
