Big lake youth camp lunch
The 2000 mile mark cheer
Cherub reunion

Was up early for a planned 30 miler. Miles of lava were slow going. Around noon we crossed the 2000 mile mark. Celebration! Took a group photo with Mehap and No Day.

Mehap and No Day were headed to Big Lake Youth Camp for resupply and lunch. I wasn't going off trail if I didn't know what was for lunch. So I called. Turns out I'd actually called a Portland office but the nice lady said she'd call me back with the info. No Day called it, mac and cheese. After all that, we missed lunch but they made us warm pita bread with hummus, fresh fruit and salad. Yum! Free showers available too which also warmed the spirits.

Just as we were about to leave, One Pint showed up. She'd slack packed from santiam pass and was headed back so we all headed out together. Just as we did, the skies opened up in a torrential downpour. My Tyvek jacket was no competition and I was soon soaked.

When we arrived at santiam pass we found a water cache and trail magic. Awesome! Water, beer and fruit! We gathered at the trail head table, had a snack and readied ourself for more miles. Moments before we left, out jumped Cherub from a car. She'd been in Sisters resupplying. We got to talking and then Kpax and I decided to stay. Had a fun dinner with Cherub. Lots of good laughs. So good to see her!
