Nickel Tree

Nickel tree cheapo
Fighter jet buzzing our heads
Take that you creek

We climbed and climbed up the raging Snoqualmie River until we passed through the Dutch Miller Gap. Hands down, the most spectacular alternate ever! Ivanhoe lake with its jaw dropping waterfalls had us snapping photographs left and right.

Took a break on the rocks overlooking the lake to dry our wet gear and eat lunch. I was the last to leave and just as I started down the trail my feet slipped out from under me on the wet, rocky trail. I body slammed into the brush and rocks. Ouch. Lucky I didn't break anything.

Finally arrived back at the pct by 1 pm with only 11 logged miles for the day. Walked as fast as I could and surprisingly caught up with Fun Size and Cuddles. At a break I was realizing that all my snacks were past their expiration date. It doesn't make sharing food very exciting. Fun Size and Cuddles started joking me that instead of shopping at a dollar tree, it was more like nickel tree.

We climbed up and over Cathedral Pass before descending to a tricky river crossing. The last time through I fell hard on this crossing and badly bruised my arm. Well, I'm happy to say that the river didn't get me this time and I crossed without incident.

Darkness had settled in quick so we hiked on looking for camping spots. Fun Size and I squeezed into a spot with some other hikers and Cuddles went a short distance up the trail to another campsite. Long day. 26 miles with over 6000 ft. of climbing.
