Hypothermia

7 of us crammed into a mini van and headed for Stevens pass. When we all crawled out, it was raining. It was cold. I threw on my make shift rain skirt aka garbage bag skirt which turned out to work pretty well until I started climbing. Time for some slits in the sides of my skirt.

It rained most of the day and I only sat down once for 10 minutes. After that break I didn't see anyone except Lighthouse. He was sitting on the side of the trail not looking good. I told him to get up, we got to keep moving. Just after that we passed several hikers headed back to the trail head. The storm had just been too much. Goku showed us a picture of the snow ahead and said that his sleeping bag was wet.

I was wet and I was cold but I just kept hiking. I was trying to catch the group but I decided that whether I caught them our not I was stopping at mile 2498. There was a tent there and it turned out to be Bryce and Hannah. I was lucky enough to set up my tent during a lull in the rain. I was getting in just as it started again. I struggled to get my dry long johns on my wet body and finally I was able to get into my sleeping bag. It took me hours to get warm and my feet were cold most of the night. But I survived. If I didn't have dry clothes and a dry sleeping bag, I most certainly would have died. All I could do was lay in my bag. I didn't even eat dinner and I eventually fell asleep.
