We were in the motel office at 6am for breakfast such as it was...lacking.
The clerk called Mary who came at 6:30 and drove us out to the trailhead.
Mary is an old gal who was really interested in us and our trip. Thank you
Mary for the ride and conversation.
Hiking was pretty dull actually until Burney Falls Park. After that it was
more forest walk but it was uphill.
At Little Britton dam we were going to get water out of the lake but the
scum on the top wasn't very attractive.
Some PGandE guys drove up and Larry yogied some ice cold water from

We spent some time at Rock Creek under the bridge eating lunch and cooling
our feet. The water doesn't taste or smell great.
We slugged it up to Peavine Creek and are camped on an old road. Its nice
and cool here.
I am NOT cowboy camping tonight.
The story on the photo: In the heat of the day (90) Larry declared he
needed a nap. In two minutes he was out. Fifteen minutes later and we were
off again, uphill in the heat.
A one gallon day.
Oh, we admired the NorCal trail crews trail work near Peavine Creek.
Janette and gang, there is more to do to the south!
