Under a pine in lower Morris Meadow.

Good Friday

Dinner last night was pasta with basil pesto and pine nuts, along with Sierra Nevada pale ale. Yum.

Lots of hikers hobbling around the camp, either blisters or chafing! Luckily my feet are fine.

Slept well cowboy camping, hiking by 645 with Heinrich but he quickly left me behind. Legs tired so took it easy and enjoyed the scenery. Oak and Cottonwood meadows with green grass. Today only had to carry 2l of water max compared to 3.5L yesterday. Really a nice day.

As I climbed higher i started seeing some Jeffrey Pines and decided to go a little off trail to camp at Lower Morris Meadows in the pines. Too bad, I turned too early into another Meadow and bumbled around for 30 minutes getting back to the trail through the chaparral. In the process I collected 2 ticks on my pants and lost a bandana! A nasty shrub plucked it from the back pouch of my pack!

Once back on the trail I did a quick tick check. Then I found the real Lower Morris Meadow. Really nice, complete with a spring.
