coyote and the northern terminus!!

manning park

I tried to not hurry as I got up and broke camp.. I went back again to the monument to get troll pictures. Something quite special about the beginning (campo, CA)and the end ( manning park) of this long trail..
for 4 miles the trail was up, and rocky and rooty and no fun.. but after that it was great and by 11 am, I was in Manning..
Got a room at the hostel. it's across the hwy from the lodge and it's like we are scum of the earth.. the internet I paid extra for doesn't work over here.. the exterior of the building looks trashy.. but it is quiet and clean enough..
met grandma kathy and her poodle sultan this afternoon and we visited
while she ate..she is staying in scummville too..
I leave tomorrow on the greyhound, hopefully the next hostel is better!!
And I still walked to Canada and that's cool!!!
