Pacific Crest Trail Map

The day is creeping up

Two months from today my dad and I will be standing at the Mexican border. My heart is racing already... We're no strangers to all the beauty and pain that comes from 20mile days but for no more than a week and this will be 22weeks (we hope). Right now the preparation seems endless. What to bring? What not to bring? The endless debate of do I REALLY need it so much that I want the extra weight? Twenty years ago people did the PCT with seventy pound packs. Maybe carrying contacts, glasses and sunglasses won't kill me? If I don't make it you'll know why... stupid eyes.

In preperation, today I'll be working on my base pack.
