FOOD!

FOOD, FOOD and more FOOD! Anyone who has hiked for a week or more knows that you can never eat enough. Some days you think about food all day maybe even dream about it all night. Then there are the days you force yourself to stop thinking about food because it's just too torturous. ANYWAYS lets get to the point.

One of my responsibilities in planning for the PCT is to make/gather all of our food for these five months and divy it into boxes with their impending location. It has been kind of a nightmare, I won't lie, it's an all overwhelming gargantuos task. BUT last night I found an AWESOME AWESOME site!!!! called FoodStorage.com and spent a little money... meaning A LOT but I bought hundreds of servings of vegetables and meat. The site has all different kinds of freeze dried fruit, vegetables, meat, dairy, grains, beans and more. I was so excited to find this site I felt weight lift off my shoulders! I'd searched high and low at all the stores around town and never could find much, especially in the way of vegetables and I couldn't find any freeze dried meat. Though I will have some meals with chicken, tuna or salmon in those foil pouches.

OH and i forgot to tell you about one of the things I was MOST excited about, they have peanut butter in little serving size packets. They kind of look like foil mustard packs. Peanut butter is a must have! With 100 calories a tablespoon peanut butter is perfect! And I don't know about you but I love peanut butter. So if you need some food supplies to help you make meals or even if you just want a place to buy freeze dried meals you should defiantly check out the site!
