Head home

Roy fixed us bacon and eggs for breakfast before we packed up to leave. Red Feather was going to be dropped off in town, and if she couldn't find a ride to the trail, Roys wife would give her a ride about 1 pm when she got off work.
We packed up and loaded on the car, and while driving to Quincy Roy says "You know it is going to be another hot day and Red Feather needs to get going as early as she can. Why don't we just drive she up to the trail head." Sounds good, and that's what we did, which was only 12 miles, and happened to be in the wrong direction for going to Reno. Again people like Roy, who are willing to help others are amazing!
So, we drive Red Feather back up to the Buck Lake Summit and the PCT trail head. We gave her a hug, wishes her well, and wished I was still hiking with her. She heads off north up the trail.
When we dropped her off we noticed two other hikers standing on the other side of the road, which we picked up and gave a ride to the Post Office in Quincy. Once they were dropped off Roy and I started the 80 mile drive to Reno, where I with the help of my son Aaron, got on a plane for Seattle. Now I am home trying to recover so I can return to the PCT and join Red Feather on the trek north.
I do have an appointment with an ankle specialist next week, that can hopefully help me in my recovery plan.
