Idyllwild

Jamie and I goofed around in Idyllwild all day, supporting the local economy and town bakery. Oohh, the bakery... A couple thru hikers bought the store about a block from the town center and its amazing. Great hiker food at a reasonable price, and the best cinnamon rolls I've ever eaten. Seriously, go there.

Mike picked us up in the afternoon and we spent the night in his Casita. We've decided not to push on further this year - it's been a perfect trip, but the weather is starting to break. There is snow on San Jacinto and it gets deeper as you go north into the Gorgonio range.

I hate to stop, but it will be nice to get in a little more travel before I have to return to work in January. If it were April, the decision would have been next to impossible. I've missed this trail like crazy. Even now, sitting in a cozy little coffee shop waiting for my bus to transport me back to civilization, I'm still staring up toward Big Bear, dreaming of the miles still waiting for me.
