Why, hello there,
The sun shines into my Portland apartment as I sit on the futon in our living room writing this first entry. Gear and clothing are sprawled out across my bedroom floor. To do lists cover counter space and there is a small mountain of cardboard boxes in our dining room corner. There is a mixture of excitement and anxiety in my gut as the reality that I'm leaving next weekend sinks in. t-minus 7 days.
My path to the trail head this summer is a bit longer than others. Next weekend I am leaving Portland but instead of heading straight for the Mexican border, I am riding my Honda CB650 Nighthawk motorcycle to Milwaukee for Timmy's graduation. Get it TIM! :) (wonder how emojis come through on this)
After some fun filled family festivities I fly out of Milwaukee on Monday night on the eighteenth. Then, I'll be picked up by Sep in LA and start walking the trail a few days later.
I'm looking forward to sharing some stories with y'all this summer and hearing some of yours.
Holla atcha boi.
