Journal Entry
I’m going to attempt to hike the 2668 mile Pacific Crest Trail again this year. Hopefully snow will not be the factor that it was in 2010 and 2013. Our travel begins on June 27th where I will be dropped at RaineyPass and head north to Manning Park. Then will flip back to Rainey on July 7th and head SOBO. I'm of the understanding that some 4 other hikers are beginning on or about this time at Rainey and Harts Pass. I’ll be pleased to make Oregon, ecstatic to arrive in California and feel like a super-hero if I make it to the Campo monument.

The Pacific Crest Trail (PCT) is the jewel in the crown of America's scenic trails, spanning 2,668 miles from Mexico to Canada through three western states. It reveals the beauty of the desert, unfolds the glaciated expanses of the Sierra Nevada, and provides commanding vistas of volcanic peaks and glaciers in the Cascade Range. The trail also passes through historic mining sites and evidence of humans endless quest for natural resources. Thousands of hikers and equestrians enjoy this national treasure each year. Some only travel a few miles, while others complete every mile in a single season! (Credit USFS http://www.fs.fed.us/pct/)
