Up and over the approximate 1240 foot climb from Hauser creek to Lake Morena. 4.36 miles and good water at the lake. Some stop at the lake store to eat. I de ide to keep rolling on. The early trail out of the lake is sandy and uphill. Run into a guy walking unsteadily with an unbalanced pack wearing a huge orange poncho that looks like a blanket. Say hi and keep slip sliding on the sand uphill. Trail soon returns to good footing and go up and down to a short stop at Boulder Oaks campground. Continue on to Cibbetts creek campground where I meet Willie a retired marathoner in his own words and split a campground fee. The restrooms on our end of the campground were awful. Looks to have been cleaned last a month ago. UGH. At least the water was good.
