Top of the pass!

North Cascades wonderland!

I was out of camp at 6:15am. I'm not sure if I was excited to get hiking this morning or just couldn't stand the horse pee smell!

It was cloudy and damp walking the 5 miles to the top of the pass but right before reaching the top the clouds broke and you could see for miles! This morning is the reason we all hike this trail! Perfect temperature, massive views and beautiful mountains!

Interestingly I passed a couple day hikers early this morning and they told me they saw a moose a little earlier. Oh man, I would love to see a moose! It didn't happen...

Today also had the last big uphill on the trail. I powered up it in under 2 hours. It totaled 5 miles and 3200 feet of elevation gain. Not sure where I found the reserve energy but I seem to save a bit for the end of workouts :)

It was a lovely day and one that I will remember...
