Final Thoughts

Thank you to all who visited my journal in the last two years. I started this journal two years ago thinking that I would hike the PCT in 2016. I studied books, read magazines, watched various social media videos and attended seminars. I started acquiring equipment, exercising, taking hikes and doing some light backpacking. Most of my backpacking trips were derailed by weather and the lack of time for more serious training. So, when 2016 came I felt unprepared. I decided to keep training in 2016 gleaning information from hikers on the PCT. Nancy and I followed a couple on the PCT from Southern California to Northern Washington. The knowledge of the trail I learn has prepared me and made me more confident to do the trail than ever. So, I will train harder this year and hike the PCT in 2018. I will start a new journal at the end of this year to document my journey. Until then Happy Trails.

Finally Free On The Trail

The Pacific Crest Trail (PCT) is a 2,650-mile national scenic trail that runs from Mexico to Canada through California, Oregon and Washington. The PCT traverses 24 national forests, 37 wilderness areas and 7 national parks. The PCT passes through 6 out of 7 of North Americas ecozones.

Happy Trails
