Change of Plans

Plans have changed in a major way since my last post. My visit to the eye Dr. to get new glasses turned into a 3 month ordeal of getting basal cell skin cancer removed from my eyelid. Not to worry, I write this entry w/a patch over my new, cancer-free, eyelid for the next two days(thanks plastic surgeon!). Needless to say I've invested in some enormous grandpa style sunglasses.

So...the new plan is to hike south from Cascade Locks starting July 10th with a goal of reaching Mt. Whitney before winter hits the Sierra. At that point, I may continue on to the Mexican border if I still have the desire.

Mostly, I'm just excited that skin cancer crap is taken care of and I can once again focus on the PCT. So excited to get out there!
