McDonald's at I-15 Cajon Pass

Hello to the readers of this post. It's Thursday morning 9 a.m. and we are on the trail on our way to Wrightwood. Just a quick note about the last couple of days. We'll and I left Silverwood Lake broccoli 8 o'clock in the morning knowing what we needed to get to McDonald's so Bill Spalding could pick us up. They were two major Hills we had to go over and in the heat it was quite an accomplishment for me. Even the water in our bottles that we were carrying got warm so drinking it really didn't do much except raise our core temperatures. The distance from the north side of the lake to the McDonald's was 15.8 Miles and the last mile and a half to McDonald's was quite a chore for me. I know I've overdone it with the heat but determination and a do-or-die attitude got me to McDonalds. Will seems to be doing very well with walking in this heat. Bill notice as planned and took us to his home. His lovely wife had made a fantastic spaghetti dinner for us I was not ashamed that I had two helpings. I guess carbs are the important thing now to keep the energy level up. We were able to do laundry and take a very needed shower. And then slept in a very comfortable bed getting ready for the next 6 days of hiking. Hope had met Bill at the hospital and given him boxes for us so our resupply was done and now I'm carrying a pack that probably weighs close to 44 lbs. We had breakfast at Bill Spalding how's the s'morning and he drove us back to the trail start point. So now the plan is to hike up to Wrightwood and get a resupply of water there since the next 22 miles are dry. It is supposed to rain this weekend but up in that elevation they expect snow. We'll see what happens and go with it as it goes I guess. That pretty much catches everybody up and will try and post when we get to Wrightwood.
