Day 34, zero day in Tehachapi

So a day of rest. Probably much needed but I almost got back on trail this morning. Good decision to relax and rest. Great people here. We could hitch all over town w. no waiting. Mike and I had gr8 barbecue in town. Saw Gormet , Double D and Arms in the afternoon, all Canadians. Time for sleep and back to the trail at 6:30 a.m. Tough 140 mile stretch ahead in the desert to Kennedy Meadows and the start of the Sierra. Long stretches between water, up to 37 miles so I'll be carrying max of 3 1/2 liters in up to 100° heat. Heaviest pack w. 7 days food.
