Journal Entry

While 2018 seems like a long way out, I have a feeling it's going to go pretty quick (It may be an age thing). Lots to do in the meantime as the "Hiking Bug" has come back to bite me a bit later in life. This means it’s been awhile since I have done anything serious in that regard, however I did work for many years out-of-doors in some pretty wild places so I'm looking forward to getting back to that world.

And so it begins, mostly with lots of reading, video watching, checking out gear etc and taking advantage of the local hikes to begin the process of getting in shape, such as the nearby Mt Doug here in Victoria with some 10's of KM of trails and a reasonably steep hike to the 225 m high summit.

I’ll be checking back in with news of my adventures and preparations – stay tuned!
