Day 69 Home zero #1

Nice to be home, sleep in my own bed, sit on my couch, talk and see the family, poop in my own toilet. Oh I forgot to mention that I did weigh myself when I got home. When I left for my hike I weighed in at 186. Before I left I was fattening up a bit with beer, today...162 pounds. I have lost 24 pounds and it really shows. Today was chore day so I got busy cleaning organizing and planning for my next section. After cleaning my gear it was off to food shopping. My original plan was to hike to Hwy 80 then Lynn picks me up for two nights in Reno so she can get her Pi gao poker fix for her birthday. The plan changed to pick up at Sierra City, and then it changed again to Belden Hwy 70 or we just go to Reno when I get done with my hike. So Im at least hiking to Belden before my next zero. My first Engineer when I was a seasonal Firefighter at Sunshine Fire Station, Doug Rinella is going to meet me at Donner pass I-80 and take me to his home for a shower, bed and food. With that plan Im now going to just pack for a 3 day hike and send a 5 day resupply box to his house to get me to Belden. Im going to hike past Sierra City without stopping. Ive been there with my brother during our section hiking and I was there 2 years ago for an early season fire. Nice little town but a bit expensive to resupply in and I keep hit towns on weekends when rooms are more expensive. After shopping it was home for relaxing. My family has missed my cooking so tonight I made my chicken fried steak. Much better than the one I had in Bridgeport. We invited our friends, Rick and Trina over for cocktails and visiting. We enjoyed our time with them and then off to bed at a late 10:00.

I hiker could get used to this comfort.
