Day 99 Ashland Zero

The three of us partook in the free breakfast at the hotel and then it was chores time for me. Based on my research for this trip I am sending two boxes of food ahead. One to Crater lake and the other to Shelter Cove Resort. Apparently these two locations dont have good resupply options. Kevln and Rob dropped me off at the store so I could do my shopping. I buying food for a 4-day, 3-day and 4-day trip. It was a little overwhelming but I got it done. We then returned to the hotel so I could split it all up then it was off to the UPS store to ship it off. I can understand sending food to myself because there wont be what I need there but the people that do it because of cost confuse me. Im spending $ 20 to sent 4 days of food so the high cost factor doesnt make since to me. My chores completed we went out to lunch downtown. Ashland has a really nice downtown and my daughter Madelyn would love this place. After lunch we returned to our room and Rob made the first move for a nap and Kevin and I followed suit. Ok laugh it up, three old men taking a nap. It sure was good though. Fully rested we drove to go look at one of the roads I was planning to use to get around the trail closure. I have been downloading quad maps and trying to figure out how to get to the other end of the trail closure with minimal highway walking. I think I figured it out and well see how it goes. Upon our return we started walking to the Caldera brewery but decided to stop at a Mexican restaurant for margaritas and nachos first. After a few drinks we continued on to the brewery for some beers. We thought that since we had burgers for lunch we would just have a few beers then return to the Mexican restaurant for dinner. Leaving the brewery we returned to the Mexican place and ordered dinner and a pitcher of margaritas. We ended up staying till closing time. Walking back to the hotel Rob went into the circle K and got his chocolate milk. He has a thing about drinking chocolate milk every night before bed. Once back at the hotel we went to the hot tub and sat in there and talked for some time. Bedtime eventually came at midnight and unfortunately it was not hiker midnight.

It could be a rough day tomorrow,
