how to get to the trailhead

how to get to the trailhead

When you are living in Switzerland its not just going around the corner to reach your starting point for a SOBO thru-hike on the PCT. Harts Pass is from this end of the world (yeah the Swiss are living on the same planet!) in the middle of nowhere, sorry!

Well, another problem is the fact that the Cascades got a lot of snow this season until today. Comparing with the year '16 (see www.pctsouthbound.com) there is even more snow. Anyway my earliest temporary quit of work will be the first full weekend in July.

The plan – 'the average Swiss don't take a dump son without a plan' (the hunt for red October)

#1 Friday 07/06/2018 last train to Zurich airport
#2 Saturday 07/07/2018 09:10 15:35 Flight to Seattle (SEA) via Cologne
#3 Saturday 07/07/2018 19:00 22:05 Wenatchee Valley Shuttle to Wenatchee
#4 Sunday 07/08/2018 13:30 15:20 Apple Line Bus to Okanogan
#5 Sunday 07/08/2018 15:20 hitchhike to Twisp, Winthrop or/and Mazama
#6 Monday 07/09/2018 12:00 hit the trail at Harts Pass

The next steps are depending on the snow melting in the Cascades in May and June. Just now it's rather a piling up than melting!

I'll be back soon …

Walk Of Life

Arriving at Roubaix after 250 kilometers, 50 of it on the famous paves (cobblestones)!

There are some big cycling races in spring in Europe, called Monuments or Classics. There is for example Paris - Roubaix, Milano - San Remo or the Tour of Flanders. I 'did' them, of course not with the professionals but as a leisure time cyclist!

It's not just fun but at the end, it was just fun.
