Pre-trip hike Rough Hollow out and back

Michelle and I headed out with Dandy the Dingo at about 7am going for a 10M total trip out and back on the Lakeway Rough Hollow Lakes trail. The day started in the 70s and ended in the high 80s with overcast which was great because when the sun came out it was hot and sweaty. We got to the mid trail dock in about 2.7M and made coffee and filtered water from Lake Travis. We continued to the point and went down a new road that we thought would end at multiple houses, but about 1/4 M later we ended up at a huge, single family lot overlooking Rough Hollow Marina. Nice driveway! We continued to the point, checking out partially built homes along the way, and found a Laurelhaven home being built by our friends from Emmaus Parish, Michelle and Curt Sexton. Great location, huge house! The new dock at the point has 118 stairs down, so we hiked down to the dock and swam in Lake Travis, made our lunch and got the Dingo to actually swim for the first time! We finished lunch, climbed the 118 stairs and headed around the point along the abandoned road, jumping over two gates and continuing until the trail ran out at about our 5M mark. We headed back, stopping briefly at the mid point dock lookout and filtered more water, and since it was hot giving Dandy a chance for a swim to cool off. We got home at about 4pm. The hike felt great, tweeked some pack items, Michelle worked on her shoes, the Inreach Mini worked fine, lots to get the hang of. Took a lot of movies and pictures with the Gopro7, and I am a new fan of the Quik movie! The automatic movie generation worked well, and in 10 minutes I had a nice movie of the day to share.
