Countdown: 23 days!

If you haven't joined the American Long Distance Hiking Assoc (ALDHA) I highly recommend it. They hold regular gatherings and the information that you can pick up from experienced, like-minded hikers has been invaluable, at least for me. And you can rub elbows with the rock stars of the hiking community. At a Ruck (gathering) recently I was introduced to The author Pillsbury seems very wise. She has a very thoughtful take on high snow years that I hadn't considered before. Check it out for yourself and be sure to join ALDHA. Another site that I found that is really incredible is The author hikes the trail system around Idyllwild every few days and gives a first hand report of conditions. All I can say is wow! The snow and trail conditions in this area have me concerned so the info Jon posts is going to be really valuable. Meanwhile, I'm taking care of some last minute details. All systems are go.
