No Southbound PCT Hike
I kind of saw it coming but kept the hope that I would have the opportunity to do the hike, not to be. First issue is my 95 year old mom in hospice care . With only a few weeks of life remaining I need to to be here to make end of life decisions and to take care of her business affairs after she has departed. The second issue is the unprecedented fire danger where we live ,the desert slopes of the San Gabriel Mts. And the last issue is that I'm getting major resistance from my significant other, and I know that she's right considering all that's going on.
I'm keeping the hope of doing a southbound Arizona Trail hike beginning late September or early October. And then there's the PCT maybe in 2022. I'm quickly approaching 70 years of age , so we will see.
