Day 21

I woke up early from my excellent camp spot, and was on trail by 5:45. I climbed up and over the 8500 feet mark, and started doing up and down hills on top of the big hill. However, I felt super exhausted. Even though I had slept through the night and gotten a ton of sleep, I felt like I could sleep more.

I ran into several people I had been talking to- Jackie and Bamboo- and just sat and talked as much as I could. The scenery was amazing, and I really enjoyed it, but I just didnt have any energy. After taking another break at 11:00, I decided to hitch into Wrightwood and get lunch and take a long break. I figured if I felt better I would get in trail in late afternoon. I ended up hearing from Keeper that he wanted to come into Wrightwood to spend the night, and I decided to do that as well. I think Im just fatigued from the stretch from Big Bear, and the night in Cajon wasnt enough. Its hard, because part of me really doesnt want to be off trail, but the more sensible part of me told me to rest.

I spent a night at a trail angels house- Maria, with Keeper and Skyla. Skylas trail name is U Turn as well, which we found really funny. I plan to get back on trail today. Im just waiting for Miso and Spicy to get here, then hopefully well leave together. Keeper injured his knee doing too many miles at once, so hell rest in Acton and wait for us there. It should take us maybe three days to get to Acton.
