Tahoe Rim Trail Map
Last year, I was playing with the idea of this hike. This year it is scheduled.
My goal is to go relatively far ever day (17+ miles) and to try to swim.
My wife is going to stay in the Tahoe area during my hike so I have resupply options.
Sept 7 through Sept 18.
Looking forward to it.
day zero: travel to kingsbury. hike the new section of trail from route 207 up to the south trailhead. 4 miles or so
day 1: kingsbury south to star lake, up Freel Peak, and past Armstrong Pass. 18+ miles
day 2: goal is Echo Summit in time for dinner. 20 fast miles.
potentially camping at Berkeley Echo Lake Camp. Or perhaps back to civilization with my wife
day 3: to Dick's Lake. Lots of options here. 15+ miles. requires wilderness area permit
day 4: to someplace north of Barker Pass. 15+ miles.
day 5: to Tahoe City and pizza! Camping location undecided, probably Tahoe SRA CG on the lake! 15 miles
resuppy (breakfast/lunch for day 6)
day 6: to Brockway Summit. Overnight at the Lake Tahoe Hostel in Kings Beach. 15 miles.
day 7: to Mt Rose
day 8: to Marlette Lake CG
day 9: back to Kingsbury (long day)
I have my California fire permit.
I have most of my gear - http://lighterpack.com/r/cl5t9c
