Favorites and Not so much

It has been a long incredible journey, and I'm remembering my favorites and not so much.

Favorite campsite- Ridge in the two thumbs range looking out at Mt. Cook,

worst campsite- a tie between Diggers Valley Road (in the first week) and the quarry site from a couple of days ago

Favorite Section- The Tararus on the North Island, the Richmand Range on the South Island

Worst Section- The road walking from Wanganui to Palmerston North, North Island

Saddest thing I saw- 26 Dead Penguins on the beach :(

Happiest Moment on the trail- seeing Leslie pull up at Arthur's Pass

Hardest Section- the Mackeral Forest, North Island

Tallest Point- 2000 meters, lowest, ahh see level

Biggest Day- 44 Km on the North Island, 43 on the South

Smallest Day- 12 Km on the South (which I might add took all day)

Favorite NZ saying- "keen on you"

Most unforgettable moment- the scream Buck 30 let out when he put his trekking pole through his tent

Favorite Hut- Stodys and Anne Hut

Best town meal- my Denver omelet in Lake Hawea

Worst town meal- my half cooked sausage corndog on a stick (I thought I ordered an American Hotdog)

My most said quote- "I need to dry my tent"

Best purchase- earplugs for 10 dollars

Worst purchase- a pizza that had anchovies on it :(

The last night on the trail, I crawled into my sleeping bag and thought, "I did it, I survived another day on the TeAraroa, I'm one day away from Bluff!"
