Planning for Fall PCT Whitney hike
This was my 11th hike on the PCT. I've completed all segments except north of Snoqualmie Pass. The Whitney section was the higher altitudes, but I had no ill effects from the height. My favorite parts of this segment was the day hike to summit Whitney and the approach to Muir Pass. The lakes in the early morning were brilliant and the variations in the terrain were dramatic. The hut was very neat and I could see how it would provide good protection if caught in a storm. In this segment I was hiking north while all the JMT through hikers headed South. I ran into 40-60 hikers per day. It was a great chance to share information about water and trail conditions.Use this link to see pictures of my last hike.
