end of hike
Well, this is the end of the hike for me. Took a few days off to try to get the blister to feel better. It is right under the ball of my foot, so every step aggrevates it and causes it to get bigger. This blister, combined with the heat, elevation gain/loss each day and an old body contributed to my decision to get off the trail. It was a fun time, exhausting and brutal, but beautiful and challanging all at the same time.
Best wishes for everyone out there now and those who are yet to start. Enjoy it.
Dave's 2017 PCT Hike
The Pacific Crest Trail (PCT) is a 2,650-mile national scenic trail that runs from Mexico to Canada through California, Oregon and Washington. It climbs nearly 60 major mountain passes, descends into 19 major canyons and ambles past more than 1,000 lakes and tarns. The PCT also traverses 3 national monuments, 7 national parks, 24 national forests and 33 federally mandated wildernesses.
