On My Way

Well I hit the road tomorrow. My train departs early and I end up in the Palm Springs area late in the day. Relax for a couple of days and then hit the trail at Whitewater on the 5th. Based on reports from the trail it looks like my partner Ray and I will encounter snow as we head up the hill into Big Bear and also as we leave the Big Bear area. And the night temps have been quite chilly down in the low 20's to teens. So I am taking extra gear to deal with these conditions and will switch to lighter gear for the desert sections and the sections later in the month.

I mailed my one food drop to Agua Dulce and my extra pack is loaded down with supplies that I will use for the 3 different sections I am doing in SoCal. I am not doing the conventional start and just go, but rather I am jumping around based on time and conditions. We will end up hiking South to the kickoff which should be a lot of fun.

Well time to finish up the final stuff around the house and double check that I have packed everything.
