Fjallraven Classic 2017- here I come!

What's next?

The Fjällräven Classic was a bucket list dream come true and it exceeded all the expectations I had built up in the 2 years since I’d first learned about it. While I had been looking forward to sharing the experience with my hiking partner, I was able to experience the trek in a different and perhaps more meaningful way as a solo hiker. Had I hiked with a partner the whole way, I don’t think I would’ve forged the friendships I did with the other hikers that I met along the way.

Hikers often say that “the trail gives you what you need.” Whether it was an unexpected treat, the company of seeing other hikers in the distance, or the kind gesture of a relative stranger, it did, indeed.

So what comes next? As the registration for the 2016 Fjällräven Classic came and went, I had little pangs of envy as I read FB posts from its excited participants. The trip to Sweden to participate in the Fjällräven Classic was a pricey one, so I spent last year saving up for my next big adventure. Tickets for the 2017 Fjällräven Classic went on sale in early January and once again, they sold out very quickly…

…but not before I could secure my spot in the first start group.
