What's up everyone! I know it's been awhile but trying to get settled up here in Vancouver WA. I have been up here for a week now. I have applied to 3 different rei's in the area. Portland has there people already but I'm still hopeful for clackamas and Hillsboro. I should hear from this week hopefully. I'm looking at REI mostly because I feel the company gives me the best opportunity to further my career.

I volunteered with the nature conservancy in Oregon last Saturday and we planted willow trees all along the sandy river to help prevent more erosion. The really cool part was when I was put in charge of making an actual trail and rerouting an old trail that went along the river that caused more erosion. I never done anything like that before and it turned out really nice! Everyone loved it and so did the coordinator. He said there is more trail work to be done with a different group and said to give him a call next week. Freaking sweet deal. We shall see how that goes. I'm just looking for as many opportunities as possible.

If I am forced to get a job just to get by than I might save up and do another trail next. I have been playing with that possibility in my head. It sounds so cool but at the same time I would like to get something going for me you know. Also, if I do another trail it would be the CDT, than that means I would have to do the AT to complete the triple crown. Wouldn't be so bad now would it? I don't know where life is headed but this week could tell a lot.

Just want to say hell yeah to all the thru hikers this year that dominated and made it all the way thru!! What an awesome year to attempt it.
