Relaxing and clean on Mt. Hood

Pickup Day

At least for me, my tent site last night was not to level and I didn't sleep all that well. Also it didn't get very cool last night probably because we are at a much lower elevation. Still, we started getting ready at 5:40 am, and were on the trail by 6:48 am. I think everyone is ready to get to the pickup point and back to civilization.

The trail remained pretty much level, and again without much view as we continued walking in the trees. We reached the trail side spring which flowed out from underneath some large trees. Very cold, clean and great tasting.

We soon came to the large Timothy Lake that looked like an ocean, which we hiked along for a few miles, till the wooden bridge over the river.

It wasn't too long and we hit the side trail to Little Crater Lake. Little Crater Lake is small, but deep. About 45 feet deep of 34 degree water. Kind of interesting to see.

A short distance further we were at the campground and soon sitting at the entrance sign waiting for Ann. We hadn't had cell service for two days so we couldn't tell her we would be early. So instead of 1 pm or later, we got there at 9:50 am, and waited for three hours before Ann arrived. I was sure glad she arrived, since I didn't want to walk anymore, and I was just about to start the 6 mile walk to Highway 26. Now back to civilization, showers, clean clothes, and lots of food we don’t have to cook or carry. Life is good.
