On a local trail last week
Hopeful
Like most of us on either side, I am glad the election is over. (I know some may believe that it isn't over, but you are probably just in denial. You'll get over it like I did 4 years ago.) Anyway it is time to move on and with a COVID vaccine on the horizon there are possibilities for next year that didn't exist this year. So I am again planning on finishing the CDT and maybe even doing a little of the AT in 2021. But I will primarily focus on completing the CDT. With just about 400 miles to go I should be able to knock it out in 4 or 5 weeks. All those miles are in Montana with the last 100 or so being through Glacier National Park. So, in other words, a spectacular place to finish. I will again blog about every week, give or take, about my prep and other musings. Then, on the trail I will blog every day to chronicle my journey. As alway, this blog is really for me as a kind of diary of these treks, but I invite you to read along if you are interested and so inclined. I will be 71 when I hit the trail, so there is aways that. Still, right now I am doing well and if COVID doesn't kill me, I think I've got a chance.
So I continue my training hikes and, as always, rethinking gear. I have a few sewing projects in mind and I am changing up my water purification routine. I will blog about these incrediblly interesting subjects ;^) and others in the weeks to come. I hope this entry finds you healthy and safe. Take care of yourself...
Happy Trails,
