Ready to Rock
So tomorrow is the big day; my brother is dropping me off at the southern terminus early tomorrow morning. I’m laying here half awake going thinking about any final details before kicking off, how far I want to get tomorrow, and a little eagerness and some trepidation about this epic adventure I’m about to embark on.
I feel mostly ready to rock- I’ve had a good rest over the last couple of weeks and had a great time hanging with my brother and my Dad after knocking out 300 miles on the AZT. Learned some great lessons and routines and daily TTPs, got a good feel for water consumption/distance my body can handle while building up my hiker legs and tweakin my pack weight downward. Body feels pretty good though the back is a little sore from the camper bed and boogie boarding out on the coast. Only slight worry is I may be underpacked on warm clothes, but will definitely find out over the next few weeks.
Overall, I’m mostly feeling excited and ready to get this started after all the planning and training over the last year and a half- hope I can get to sleep soon!
