Hi Journal,

I've been planning to take my daughter Hannah with me on The Colorado Trail ever since I learned about it. Unfortunately, it wasn't until Gudy Gaskill passed away and I learned about her legacy. So here I am and it's been a couple years of reading articles, staring at the map, and hoping my daughter won't hate me for bringing her on this journey. The last time I went backpacking, I was a teenager in a camp and it changed my life. Now I'm focused on getting myself in shape and planning all the details.
