Day 15, Last day,,,
We camped two miles short of Donahue Pass. So we easily top Donahue today and hike the mostly down hill section of trail to Lyell Canyon. It is a 1,700 foot drop, so it is not a cake walk, but it far easier and faster than going up 1,700 feet. I am thankful for that. We look at our watches and decide to hike faster and take quick stops to whip out food and eat while walking. No problem for us, kinda fun. Lyell Canyon is picturesque and we encounter many hikers on the way. They all appear fresh and clean to us. Kinda shiny and new you might say. A mile from TM my cell rings. I answer and it is Sarah asking where we were because they were at the post office and had just arrived. It took another 20 minutes or so for us to get to them. A nice reunion of Bear, Sarah, Amelia and Lou takes place. I snap a final photo of my trip. I decide to bail out of the hike today.
PCT Kennedy Meadows To Toulumne Meadows
I don't want to escape life. I will hike to keep life from escaping me.
