Day 7

Yeah, I walked into Warner Springs. Its always such a beautiful stretch. It
wasn't quite as green as 2 years ago but it still was grassy with rolling
hills. In the distance there were black and white cows grazing on hillsides
with a fog bank for a back drop.

I rolled into Warner and followed the PCT to the community center across
the street. There they had a set up for meals! I had a hot hiker breakfast
of eggs and potatoes qnd sausage and pancakes. I didn't eat it all but the
coffee was the best. Then we went to the post office and unpacked our
resupple boxes. Mine had four pounds of cheese in it! This was for 4 days?
I think we miscalculated. So, I sent some up to Idyllwild our next town.

We went back and had q burger and then a couple and a guy named Scott and I
took off up the trail in the heat of the day around 2. It was not bad and
we had a good breeze. We met a gal and her 7 year old son hiking the trail.
When we got to the stream he was loving it. All the stream crossing were
full and we thought how lucky we are at this time of the year.

As we climbed I remembered this sectiin and the top of the hill where there
was a nice flat spot. Tarzan and I had camped just short of it 2 years
before. We went down to Long Valley Spring and found the pool of water. We
used a bandana to filter out the leaves and debris but for the most part it
was not bad water.

We are planning an early start of 5 am tomorrow so I need ti get some
sleep. It was a good day.
